Weather => Web 2.0?
Of course you can get anything you need on the web, but it’s also increasingly true that I can get anything I want in a “web 2.0,” well-designed form with rounded corners and social media. What can I say? We’re spoiled.
Everything, that is, except the frickin’ weather. An hour ago, I heard tornado sirens outside. I checked the TV and, yup, this loud and flashy thunderstorm outside has triggered a tornado warning (which means that one has already been seen!) in my county. Like a good little Ohioan, I took my cousin (and some chairs, and my laptop) to the basement, where we stayed for the next hour.
While in the basement, I tried to get news about the tornado situation. Like—where was the tornado? A tornado-probability map, perhaps? What are other Ohioans doing?
Nada.
Weather.com had a clunky, useless map of precipitation with some flashing red banners that said “SEEK SHELTER.”
Where’s my clean interfaces? Where’s the instanteous and continuous IV drip of information that I am addicted to?
Who’s going to fix this? =(
